Games Night 20th July

Special thanks to PH for voting for eight different games, and being the only one to vote. MC picked Dominion.
DS
Two games played.
Set game Give and Take went first with:
Ambassador, Fishing Village, Haven, Island, Library, Market, Moneylender, Salvager, Smugglers, Witch.
A fairly quick game due to a large number of unattractive cards that required much trashing. The Witches brought forth a few Curses which were compounded by the Ambassadors. Fearing a negative MC took the plunge and the last card from the third deck, thus ending the game.
Final score: MC=5, PH=11, PM=4. PM had a silly number of Curses.

Round two was a pure Seaside set game Buried Treasure.
Ambassador, Cutpurse, Fishing Village, Lighthouse, Outpost, Pearl Diver, Tactician, Treasure Map, Warehouse, Wharf.
Not surprisingly, the Ambassador was not so popular with this set. The Treasure Maps sold fast with MC and PM cashing in one pair each and PH cashing in two. MC successfully combined a Tactician with a Wharf for an epic turn. PH ended the game by purchasing the last Province.
Final score: MC=33, PH=30, PM=24.

Killer_Bunnies_Box
With some time to kill a change of game was decided with the two options being Samurai the Card Game or Killer Bunnies and the Quest for the Magic Carrot. After slagging off the Bunnies and the randomness both PH and PM admitted never having played it. More slagging ensued about it, so instead we played Killer Bunnies and the Quest for the Magic Carrot.
A long game due to MC only getting two bunnies for the majority of the game, the first got Abducted and the second suffered from a Feed the Bunny. PH and PM suffered from a chronic case of not reading the cards and after wiping out every bunny in play with a Asteroid, wiped out every bunny in play with a Nuclear Bomb.
PM acquired the final carrot, meaning PH, with no bunnies, had to give all his carrots to MC, who finally did have bunnies. MC proceeded to go through the carrot deck, one by one until the Magic Carrot was identified.
13.
Hurray for MC whose quest was successful, but only because PH had to give him his carrots.

Games Night 13th July

After last week’s postponement, games night finally went ahead.
Three this week.
Top voted game was:
powergrid
With all of 2 votes.
Played the American side and saw PH get blocked off pretty quickly, followed closely by PM. MC managed to push into phase 2 which opened up the board again with PH quickly getting blocked once more. Unfortunately the salvation that comes with phase 3 never arrived with MC building his 17th power plant.
Final scores:
MC: 12 of 18 cities powered.
PH: 9 cities powered and the capacity to power 11.
PM: 11 of 15 cities powered.
Horay for MC.

cthulhu-gloom
A quick game this time with PM playing the event removing one of each family member, MC getting the story that allows living family members to score and PH saving PM’s last family member from a cruel fate before bestowing something unpleasant to his.
Final scores:
MC: 100
PH: 195
PM: 140
An excellent score with only 4 members of the family. PH knows how to bump ’em off with style.
