FAQ

What time are the events?

Events are held once a week at 8pm on a yet-to-be-determined weekday evening whenever 3 or more players are available. The day can be changed if needed.

Where do you meet up?

At my house in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, UK

Can anybody join?

Of course.
The only stipulation is that children will need to be accompanied by an adult and be able to sit through a lengthy game (actually the last part applies to adults too).

How do I become a member?

Show an interest.

How much does it cost?

Nothing at all.
Attendance is free. It is, however, customary to bring refreshments and/or nibbles, but this is not a stipulation.
Donations towards new games will always be welcome.

Can I bring a game with me?

Absolutely, we’re always up for something different. Check out the games tabs at the top of the page for an idea of what we’re into and have at our disposal.
There’s also a voting system in place which is supposed to give all players an idea what the game of the night is likely to be, and gives me an opportunity to set it all up beforehand, if it’s one of mine.
We try not to finish later than midnight, so games lasting longer than 4 hours will not be played.

Can I bring a friend with me?

It really depends on the evening. On quieter evenings, we’d welcome the extra player(s) happily. On busier evenings there may not be the room to fit them in – most games do have a player cap and there would be no guarantee they’d get to participate. There is also only so many people we can fit around the table.

How many games do you play in an evening?

Depends on the game. One, if it’s a long one or we start late. Otherwise 2-3 rounds of one game then 1-3 rounds of a filler game if there’s time. The evening usually ends any time from 10 onwards but has been as late as midnight (rarely). I do produce a write-up of each evening, so go check some of those out to get an idea of how an evening can ‘play out’.

Okay, I’m interested. How can I contact you?

Either write a comment here, email me at wyrmbergmalcolm@gmail.com or fill in this form:

How do I sign up for an event?

Once you’ve made your interest known, you’ll be added to the mailing list – with your permission. I send reminders a few days before the upcoming event. Places will be filled in order of responses received. Get your responses in early to avoid disappointment.

I wanted to attend an evening, but it looks like you were already full.

As we’re just starting out again, I’m expecting a slow enrollment, so this shouldn’t be an issue for a bit. However, if you were not able to attend one week, you get to be first in the line for the following week.

Anything else I should know?

Mainly the allergy notices:
1:- We have cats.
2:- Some nibbles may contain nuts, etc.
3:- Strictly no smoking. One member is very sensitive to tobacco smoke.
4:- Although there are double yellow lines everywhere, they are more of a deterrent against people parking for the hospital. There’s usually plenty of spots to park. Also the restriction only applies for 8am to 6pm.

Again, feel free to post questions here, or email wyrmbergmalcolm@gmail.com
